HOLY SH*T IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!
In a surreal and poignant moment, we have started filming in the new Bored studio! (Which means Bored is finally coming back!!)
Honestly, we can’t sum up how we felt walking in there and saying ‘ACTION’. Seeing our brand new store (and parody brands) all set up and come to life was an experience we can’t quite put into words. We will literally cherish this day forever.
Thank you to every single one of you for the contribution you made to the Great Expansion. It’s all starting to pay off and come together. You are all amazing and we can’t wait to bring you more content!

Amazing! Can’t wait for the first episode. Not sure if you thought of this but some sort of send off episode of playtech would be awesome. (like rent the original bored space one last time). Some sort of corporate takeover and everyone at playtech is fired cuz reasons. and Rowan, Adam, Alan, Ellie has to either hunt for a new job or start up their own business called Techtown.
I really like the idea of this. Plus you could have so many storylines about the transition, starting a new store etc.
I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Note that Alan and Adam are wearing Playtech shirts during Adam’s little speach.

I think they were using the Playtech store for free as a favour from the owner. But yea that would be a cool idea, they definitely need something to happen as a reason as to why the store is now changing from Playtech to Techtown.

What was going through my head; a random person walking in thinking its an actual store. We closed our business over 6 months ago and there is another business there now where people have gone in there, were patrons and left thinking it was still the old store even with all the branding changes (When we closed and everything was obviously being ripped out we still got people walk in and stand at the desk wanting to be served). Even if the building is in a complete industrial area or whatever, if it even looks like an actual store someone will find a way to want to be served/buy something.

The new Bored store looks amazing! It really does look like a real game/tech store, and I love all the little touches that you previewed in an earlier viedeo. Can’t wait to see some of the skits that you’re working on. You’ve been on an amazing journey to get here, and I’m so happy that the journey not only continues but has been elevated to this new level.

Have you actually considered the possibility of stocking real products and then either making some money on the side for product placement/mentions OR actually opening up your “store” to real customers at certain times of the day and they can come and buy from you or at least take a tour of the set? As much as it is because I selfishly just love the skits and want to see more, I’m happy to keep on contributing to what I genuinely believe will be the future of filmmaking in New Zealand – if not elsewhere . If the Writer’s Strike in Hollywood is showing us anything, it’s how out of touch the Big Studios have become to what people actually want to watch and it is you “weird” innovators who are the real cutting edge of creative films. Bravo, guys. (Now… can we talk about that musical…? 😀 )
